Needs

needs the pills to numb the rage
of a screaming beast trapped in a cage
needs to withstand these sordid times
to repay for mistaken crimes
needs the solitude to enforce
an introverted but enlightened course
needs the tears running down its face
to prove its inclusion in the human race
needs the sutures in its lips
to force a necessary censorship
needs the pain to help it feel
that it has encountered something real

this is fabulous! For me, it pointed to something that we kinda hold to in order to feel part of a greater situation. Where our basic sense of interconnectedness has been lost, it becomes important to us to feel it again. So we begin our plight to involve ourselves with what we feel to be important to ourselves and thus we become important to others. We become the perpetrator and perpetuator of more human dramas were we truly feel our center.
