Revised

I have decided to replace this post with words from Nietzsche...

"Convictions are more dangerous enemies of truth than lies."

"There are no eternal facts, as there are no absolute truths."

"The lie is a condition of life."

'Not when truth is dirty, but when it is shallow, does the enlightened man dislike to wade into its waters. "

"What then in the last resort are the truths of mankind? They are the irrefutable errors of mankind. "

"There are no facts, only interpretations."

Read the quote somewhere before. What is truth? If truth is a notion which is accepted as true, then it might transform to become false with the changes in conditions (under which the 'truth' was initially determined as a 'truth'). If truth is what is real, and assuming that reality plays around with perspectives, then what is real? And if there is no truth, then do Nietzsche's words form a truth? If we agree that they do form a truth, then is this truth objective or subjective? Or is it simply another interpretation of our own?

Nietzsche's words are derived from his own interpretation too, and with reference to his own words, his interpretation is not a fact. However, if his interpretation turns out to be the only thing that stands true, then his notion is wrong too, because his interpretation contains in itself a fact, which contradicts his own words.

The inherent paradox in his words, is what I find most reflective of life.

One thing I've used as a slogan or proverb: "Truth is relative". It makes the concept of truth smaller than it's god-like, trumped-up version we've heard from various sources. It's relativity that makes truth just another juxtaposition against our environment. Isn't truth a funny trick?

Thanks for your comments, which make alot more sense than my original post did. I read and re-read my words and realized that there was no way that I could really SAY anything about truth other than the fact that it is indeed subjective and objective at the same time and yet it isn't. Anything I say after that statement is pointless because I only seem to be infinitley contradicting myself....a perfect example of this 'inherent paradox' which not only reflects Nietzsche's life, but my own as well.

Truth, indeed, has become conceptually 'god-like' and overwhelmingly massive, and it becomes more so the more I think about it. However, I do think that it is very important to attempt to represent one's own subjectivity as clearly and as close to the way it is perceived as possible.

Truth is alot more entrenched in that shady grey area of reality than I realized.

"Convicts" they should be called who have convictions...

Facts, seldom challenge the meaning of the word "Fact"

Lie you will..!, once you knw your truth is someoneelse's Lie

Truth, can never be shallow, if it is it seldom, turns out to be a lie.

M... thanks for picking these words of wisdom from a man who saw the world for what it is

Hey, thanks the very encouraging comment you left on my blog. I don't deserve that much praise. :) I bought a book titled 'The European Philosophers from Descartes to Nietzsche' yesterday, I'll probably start reading it soon.

And, yeah, English isn't my mother tongue, my mother tongue is Chinese. I am very interested in languages and I hope to be multi-lingual like you! (If I am not wrong, you know French and Russian too, right? And you actually wrote a poem in Latin! You must be really talented!)
