I would be curious to know what the blood types are of my readers, and if you don't know, I'm interested in that, too. I've just started reading "Eat Right For Your Type: The Individualized Diet Solution to Staying Healthy, Living Longer & Acheiving Your Ideal Weight", so needless to say, my interest has been renewed.
And FYI...my Blood Type is....
B+
as are both of my natural parents, my brother and my son. My girlfriend, Polish is B-.
I don't know why I find this so interesting, but I do. A further, more in-depth post on Blood Type will follow when I finish the book.
And BTW...still working on the subject of "time"...the topic is more gargantuan than i realized...

Here's the stats chart:
O + 37% O- 6%
A+ 34% A- 6%
B+ 10% B- 2%
AB+ 4% AB- 1%
And of course, now that I know, just call me up if you ever need a transfusion, especially since your family is so far away. :-)
Probability statistics aren't one of my strengths, but I'd definitley say the odds were less than one in 10 of both of us having B+. I'll be posting more in depth in the future.

Well folks, if anyone needs a transfusion, I'm the guy. O- is my bloodtype. O is the universal donor. All other bloodtypes can accept it. I forget what the universal acceptor is though.

Can you donate to anyone even with the negative factor? And from what I understand, AB is the universal recipient. Thanks for your comments.

Yep anyone. Now there is going to be some rejection factor depending on the accepting bloodtype but not as much as if you put B+ into AB-. That would be calling for the death of the patient if they were already unstable.
Thanks Kalsang. I was under the impression that negative Rh types couldn't EVER donate to the positive types...but I stand corrected. So my friend Polish, who is B- can donate to me, but I couldn't donate to her, because the positive antigen in my blood would be rejected by hers. Thanks for clearing this up. :-)
